How does photography represent people experiencing homelessness in Calgary?

These photos were taken in encampments along the Bow River, where people have found a way to make space their own and create shelter. Over three thousand people are homeless in Calgary, an economic centre of Western Canada.

The first image below titled "beach no. 11" was selected for the 2019 Exposure Photography Festival Open Call, juried by Sarah Burtscher, Gallery Director, Stephen Bulger Gallery.
