Plain Sight: a photographic survey of uninhabited private rural spaces, 2002-2010,
shot on film and digital formats, digital c-prints 20X30".
A collection of colour photographs that reveal living spaces, formerly inhabited by farming communities. The images attempt to ask questions from the inside out, unearthing subtle details about the dissolution of Canadian settler agricultural activity, land stewardship and the resulting migration of rural residents to urban environments as a form of cultural suicide, as well as probing our own relationship(s) to where our food comes from.
Five images from the series are in the permanent collection of Bow Valley College.
